Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer hailing from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to become a member of J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her debut EP Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 was released via Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she began to get the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks online in the year 2012, when she released her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, she continued to release her music on the web, including her own released single Bound. In 2015, she appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on the track "Sweat It Out" on 21st July. The following year, her songs were circulating among the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some possible references for Rihanna. The day after Christmas, she announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. In the album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21 2016 she dropped her debut EP named Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act for J. Cole on his track Change in the year 2017 and appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on September 5. The second single she released was for Grampa on November 9. The 13th of November, she came out with two additional singles, No One as well as Pedigree. Then she appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26 2019 for her debut album of the same title. On February 20, 2019 an official music video released for the song. It's already received 3 million views on YouTube within its first week. In December 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
